Kusama (KSM) is a scalable, multi-chain network and experimental 'canary' for Polkadot, allowing rapid innovation with parachains, governance, and features before they reach the more conservative Polkadot network. It uses nominated proof-of-stake. KSM tokens are used for staking, governance, and parachain auctions.
